What?

  • Instagrok is an online interactive concept map tool
  • Can be use with iPad or Chromebook
  • Cost $45 per classroom annually but free for students

How?

  • Student key in the topic to research
  • Instagrok creates a concept map for the student with suggestions for sections
  • A “Key Facts” shows up so the students can search for facts/information for the topic (with links to the original content page)
  • Has an integrated journal interface to allow students to make notes, write research report

Why?

  • A bit of ‘enabling constraint’ so students can directly find information without search endlessly on internet
  • Can be used on the Interactive Whiteboard to conduct mini lesson on inquiry-based learning
  • Students and teachers can access their work online
