What?
- Instagrok is an online interactive concept map tool
- Can be use with iPad or Chromebook
- Cost $45 per classroom annually but free for students
How?
- Student key in the topic to research
- Instagrok creates a concept map for the student with suggestions for sections
- A “Key Facts” shows up so the students can search for facts/information for the topic (with links to the original content page)
- Has an integrated journal interface to allow students to make notes, write research report
Why?
- A bit of ‘enabling constraint’ so students can directly find information without search endlessly on internet
- Can be used on the Interactive Whiteboard to conduct mini lesson on inquiry-based learning
- Students and teachers can access their work online
